Kate Garraway returned to her hosting duties on Good Morning Britain on Thursday morning following a very difficult few months after her husband Derek contracted Covid-19.
Kate, 53, has been left to raise her two children, Darcey and William, alone while her husband fought for his life in hospital.
Luckily, the TV star has had a whole host of friends on hand to help and one of those people is 49-year-old Susanna.
Hosting the ITV show on Thursday morning, Kate and Susanna spoke about children returning to school in the last few days.
“Last week you took some time off because it was a big week,” Susanna said to her pal.

“It was a huge week, for children across the country, wasn’t it?” Kate replied.
“Back into the school playground… kind of, in a file, separate, and it was Bill’s first day at secondary school,” she explained, referring to her teenage son.

“Susanna is smiling because you rang me, and you said ‘What can I do to help? I’ve been through this’.
“I remember talking about this when your son went to secondary school and I just said, ‘At the moment I am trying to find trousers to fit’, and you did a massive load, didn’t you? And sent me loads of appropriate wear.”

Kate continued: “You became wardrobe mistress, it was brilliant, and we had a fantastic try on and I was filming Billy trying them on and at the end of it, you’ll see, I’ll show you privately, he went ‘Don’t show this on GMB’.”
After laughing about the hilarious anecdote about Kate’s son, mum-of-three Susanna went on to admit that it’s “a strange situation for school children”.

She also revealed that one of her sons is off to university next week and added: “Lots of younger people are being blamed and yet they’re going back to school and university. It’s very difficult for young people.”
Of course, Kate has experienced the effects of Covid-19 first hand after her husband ended up in a coma earlier this year and still remains in hospital.
Revealing that it was their 15th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Kate admitted she wouldn’t get to see her husband face-to-face on their special day but said she was just grateful that he’s still here.
