Eamonn Holmes praised Prince William and Kate Middleton on This Morning today, congratulating the couple for “stepping up to the mark”.
Along with his wife Ruth Langsford, the This Morning host discussed the royal couple’s recent visit to a bingo hall.
On Wednesday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared in the Shire Hall Care Home in Cardiff via video call, during their weekly bingo competition.
With their own bingo spinner, the sweethearts took turns calling out the numbers in “bingo lingo” as they joined elderly residents in the game.
Sharing the footage on the show this morning, Eamonn gushed: “I think they’ve really stepped up to the mark and I think they’ve shown they’re doing their duty and doing it very well.

“You look at them and you admire them.”
Weighing in on the subject, Brit radio host Nick Ferrari agreed with Eamonn, as he said: “There are shades there of his grandmother.
“This sense of duty comes through.”
The presenter’s comment come after he branded Prince Harry and Meghan Markle the “trouble couple” and said she was “uppity” at the end of last year.

Kate, 38, surprised Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning earlier this month, appearing via video call to chat to the two presenters.
The Duchess revealed her plans to launch a project titled Hold Still, highlighting the reality of life in lockdown, in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery.
During the interview, Kate shone a light on her own experience of the quarantine, as she remains indoors with William and their three children.

She said: “It’s extraordinary. I’m sure you’re experiencing the same yourselves and your families and things.
“We’re stuck into homeschooling again. They’re unprecedented times really. But no we’re fine, thank you for asking.
“George gets very upset because he just wants to do all of Charlotte’s projects. Spider sandwiches are far cooler than literacy work!”
This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on ITV
