Lil Baby began his rap career reluctantly, but in just three years has grown into an evocative and consistent hitmaker. His second studio album, “My Turn,” topped the Billboard album chart on two separate occasions, and he has become an in-demand guest artist.

Lil Baby also recently released “The Bigger Picture,” among the best of the recent spate of protest songs. It marked a high point in his evolution from spotlight-averse up-and-comer to one of hip-hop’s few current reliable superstars, and also the most effective mainstreamer of the eccentric melodic style that flooded Atlanta in the 2010s.
