Lorraine Kelly and Good Morning Britain medic Dr Hilary Jones have been awarded national honours in The Queen’s delayed Birthday Honours list for 2020.
Lorraine has been awarded a CBE while TV medic Dr Hilary has been awarded an MBE.
Confirming the news in a short statement, Good Morning Britain said: “We’re delighted to share the news that @DrHilaryJones is being awarded an MBE in The Queen’s Birthday Honours alongside @reallorraine who is being awarded a CBE.”
Lorraine, 60, said: “This is such an unexpected honour I’m very grateful and humbled.
“Particularly as I am in far more deserving company; especially all of those front line workers who are true heroes.

“I’ve worked in journalism since I left school in 1978 and joined my local newspaper, and have been lucky to have been on Breakfast TV for 36 years.
“It’s a job I never take for granted and that I dearly love.”
The Scottish star added: “I’ve met some truly inspirational people and I learn something new every day. It’s also been a real privilege to be in a position to be able to give something back and help charities that do so much good.”
Meanwhile, Dr Hilary Jones said: “I feel humbled and delighted in equal measure to be afforded this honour.

“I can only hope that my work in public health broadcasting and in medical practice over the last 40 years is truly worthy of it, in the full awareness that others from many different walks of life are even more deserving than myself.
“I shall continue this work for which I have an enduring passion and will continue to support the various amazing charities in which I am involved.”
Dr Hilary has headed up Good Morning Britain’s coverage of Covid-19 news since the start of the pandemic.
He has often been praised for being a calm voice of reason amongst all the confusion.
Meanwhile, England football star Marcus Rashford has been awarded an MBE.
The 22-year-old has received the award for his efforts to insure free school meals continued over the summer holidays for the UK’s poorest families.
Online fitness coach Joe Wicks has also been awarded an MBE for his lockdown online classes.
