Lorraine wades into Harry & Meghan row amid call for royal titles to be stripped

Lorraine Kelly has given her take on new claims that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to film a reality TV show for streaming giant Netflix.

According to reports uncontested by the couple, the duo will allow cameras to follow them around for three months to give the world the real them.

The news has been polarising – with many people calling for the couple to be stripped for their HRH titles.

Speaking on her hit morning show, Lorraine said: “This is invading your own privacy but they will have total control over it.

“I honestly don’t think they are going to put something out there that they don’t have total control over.”

Referencing the 1969 Royal Family doc which has been banned by Her Majesty the Queen after a mixed response, Lorraine said: “I just remember them doing a really rubbish BBQ… it was like one sausage or something.”

According to royal bible Tatler, 68% of readers think that Harry and Meghan should be stripped of their royal HRH titles.

As per the deal the couple agreed at Sandringham with Prince Charles and Her Majesty the Queen, Harry and Meghan’s Mexit deal will be reevaluated in the Spring.

Opening up about the Netflix deal, a source said: “They may have had all these lofty ideas about producing epics highlighting environmental causes and the poverty gap, but Netflix obviously want their pound of flesh.”

The Sun added that the couple “will be followed for three months” but it is unknown if cameras will be allowed into their £11.5million home in Montecito.

The source added: “Much of the docuseries will be about their philanthropy rather than what they get up to behind closed doors.

“But it will still be a fascinating insight and Meghan hopes viewers will get to see the real her.”

A rep for Netflix said: “The couple already have several projects in development, including an innovative nature docuseries and an animated series that celebrates inspiring women.

“But we are not disclosing any of the programming slate at this time.”

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 9am
