Louise Redknapp has admitted she harboured one regret about the final years of her marriage to Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp, three years after their separation.
The 45-year-old singer confessed her 2017 stint on Strictly Come Dancing reignited her love for showbiz, and made her realise she missed the spotlight.
Reflecting on her marriage, Louise realised she blamed Jamie for her decision to take a step back while raising their two children, and wished she had spoken to him about how she was feeling.
In an interview with the Mail On Sunday, Louise said: “I wish, three years ago, I’d been able to just speak up. For a long time it was easy to blame him.
“In the past six months, I’ve thought, you know what, it was down to me to say, ‘something’s not right. My self-esteem is really struggling. I’ve got no passion. I love my kids more than anything in the world’.
“I love what I do, too, and I haven’t quite got the guts to go out and try to do it again.”
Though Louise knew she needed to tell Jamie her self-esteem had taken a hit, the Stretch songstress confessed she “just didn’t speak up”.
She added: “I wish I’d just gone, ‘right, the kids are getting older, and I love my job and I’m going to give it a real go, and Jamie, if you don’t like it, tough. But if you do like it, let’s talk about it’.”

Louise Redknapp married into Redknapp family back in the 90s, with the lovebirds quickly becoming one of the country’s most glamorous celeb couples in the years that followed.
With the birth of their two children, Charles, 15, and Beau, 11, Louise devoted herself to parenting, looking after the kids while Jamie continued with his high-profile career.
Her Strictly stint, dancing alongside Kevin Clifton, was a lightbulb moment, as Louise realised she missed the entertainment world.

Speaking about the realisation, the mum-of-two told the publication she had grown tired of being a “Stepford wife,” after years of performing on stage.
She added: “I wanted kids so much, I was happy to put everything on hold for them.
“Standing by and watching Jamie become this entertainment star was pretty hard. I was proud of him, but there was part of me thinking, ‘that’s my world’.
“I could see the excitement he got out of it and I knew how that felt. But it wasn’t me feeling it anymore.”
Jamie and Louise announced their split in December 2017, and continue to co-parent their boys together, vowing to work together for the sake of the family.
