Love Island’s Chris Hughes has been slammed by fans after he sent a tweet to airline easyJet asking for answers about his flight that was cancelled to Portugal during the coronavirus crisis.
Many people are now left in limbo with regards to flight cancellations after Boris Johnson halted non essential travel to and from the UK this week due to the pandemic.
It would seem that the reality star was among those who was also left in limbo with regards to an up and coming trip to Portugal.
Wanting answers he tweeted the airline directly from his official account, asking for an “update” or “refund”.
Chris penned: “Hi @easyJet I was suppose to be flying to Portugal next Tuesday, obviously this isn’t happening now, so any idea on refunds or updates please?”

This didn’t seem to land well with fans demanding that Chris should wait like everyone else.
Fans couldn’t hide their anger for the tweet, especially during the current COVI-19 crisis when there are thousands of people also needing answers at this time, those who even can’t afford to lose cash.
One fan fumed: “Think you’ll find they are pretty busy at the moment! Wait like rest of us for updates.”

Another added: “Have a day off, people who work for easyJet i.e air hostesses are not getting paid but you want your cheap flight refunded.”
While a third chimed in: “Maybe you should donate your refund to charity.”
However, others disagreed and thought that the star should be praised for using his platform to speak out.
One fans said: “Why are people on here slating Chris Hughes? He has paid his money and deserves a refund. If anything, people should be grateful someone with a social media presence is calling them out?”
A second added: “I’m pretty sure he does his part in donating to charities. Don’t understand why he isn’t allowed to enquire about getting his money back from a flight like the rest of us, regardless of how much money he already has?”
Lots of people have been nervous about refunds and even wonder if their travel insurance will cover their lost money as there seems to be some discrepancies over the date insurance was purchased.
Travel experts have warned people still abroad should make a swift exit home before they end up stuck in places that are already on lockdown such as Italy, France and Spain.
The UK has since taken restrictions advising against large gatherings, non essential travel and encouraged people that could, to work from home.
As of today, 1,950 people across the UK have tested positive for coronavirus, with the death toll now at 60 people.
