Love Island star Malin Andersson has told of her sadness at developing serious digestive disorders through abusing laxatives to stay slim for beauty contests.
The 27-year-old, who pushed her body so much she would pass out during pageants, said she now realises how “ill and depressed” she was.
Malin now suffers irritable bowel syndrome and gluten intolerance.
She said: “I just think it is so sad because if I could speak to my younger self I would just tell her not to bother at all.
“Because even though it was part of my journey I would be so depressed from not having control over my self-worth.

“It’s sad, I’d wake up and it would consume my soul. That was me.
“I was just functioning and it has now led to me having IBS permanently due to laxative abuse.
“I am gluten intolerant and I don’t eat meat or fish anyway but that was a personal choice about a year ago.”
Speaking to I’m a Celeb star Vicky Pattison on her The Secret To… podcast, Malin added: “For me, my mind wasn’t with it. I would be passing out and feeling dizzy.”
Malin, who appeared on ITV2’s Love Island in 2015, has spoken of her struggle with eating disorders previously.
And she recently said mum Consy, who died in 2017, contributed to her troubles.
She said: “When I was 16, mum bribed me £500 to enter Miss Bedfordshire – she really wanted that life for me.
“It was like a switch in my head and it triggered a crazy journey with food and exercise. It was all about appearance and body image then for a good six years.”
