X Factor star Lucy Spraggan has admitted that getting divorced and losing weight has left her feeling sexier for the first time in her life.
The 29-year-old singer is promoting her new single ‘Flowers’, which is about orgasms, and is also enjoying a new romance.
Discussing the new song during an interview on FUBAR radio, Lucy said the meaning of the track isn’t so simple.
“So the song itself is about orgasms, right, which is something I would never, never have covered before,” she said.
“You know, year of the vagina, WAP and all that stuff. I may have coined that myself. I’m not going off any Zodiac!”

Discussing how she was able to tap into this side of herself, the former X Factor star explained that this year she “lost a bit of weight and had a divorce” and then suddenly “rediscovered herself”.
“I’ve never felt sexy in my life. I’ve never felt attractive or in tune with myself in that way,” Lucy admitted.
“And I kind of like, found myself experiencing that and I really wanted to make a song that was a bit like, ‘yeah this is how I feel! This is sexy!'”

However, despite her new found confidence, Lucy still felt self-conscious when filming the music video for Flower.
“The video was very difficult. They were like, ‘bit more sexy Lucy, bit more sexy!’,” she laughed.
Lucy split from wife Georgina Gordon in November 2019, after almost three and a half years of marriage.

She has since quit booze and undergone a body and lifestyle transformation and admitted she is in a much better place now.
“I’ve spent so long absolutely f**king miserable, that’s the thing. So I’m like, I do have this like, ‘I’m so happy’ about me, but some days are still s**t. So I’m gonna enjoy the days where I like skipping on the treadmill,” she explained.
Lucy is in a new relationship with a woman she describes as “a sober babe too”.

“I’ve been seeing her for a bit. I’ve been very open about my life, like a lot about my life my whole life, and this time I’m a bit like, do you know what, I’m going to keep some stuff for myself,” she said of her new romance.
When asked if it was important for her to date someone who also didn’t drink, Lucy answered: “It depends what kind of drinking. I dated a few people, saw a few people before lockdown.
“I’m the kind of person that doesn’t have one drink. I like have a drink and then I’m, ‘ugh you don’t go to bed, ugh you’re a f**king loser’.”

She continued: “I ended up going on a date with someone like that who kept going, are you sure you don’t want a shot, and I was like, ugh! And so no I couldn’t see somebody like that but there are people out there, and this is wild, but can actually have a drink and be okay!”
Since giving up booze, Lucy has taken up running and said it’s made her release that she can “break other boundaries”.
“With the running I got a bit obsessed. I did a 10K after three weeks and a half marathon, like 22K, in lockdown in six weeks!” she said.
“In lockdown I was running a half marathon every week in one go and then I was running 5K’s as well in the same week. I’m not doing that now!”
