Love Island beauty Maura Higgins has hit out after her Dancing On Ice pro partner Alexander Demetriou was seen leaving her home, denying that there is anything more than a friendship between them.
The brunette beauty took to Twitter to slam the claims, telling her 154,000 followers: “2020 and yet again a man and woman can not be friends!
“Me and Alex are friends and Joe and I are friends. Yes I have more male friends than female! Get over it!”
The 29-year-old bombshell was met by support from her followers, with thousands of them liking, retweeting and replying to her.

One said: “I just don’t know when things are going to change. It’s absolutely ridiculous, what’s going on, a man and woman can be friends.
“It’s always been the way for us hun, but just some people don’t get it. But you keep being you and don’t change for no-one.”
Another said: “Most of my friends are guys and the amount of times I’ve been told I’m ruining their relationship is unbelievable! It’s 2020 let us be friends with whoever we want.”

And a third echoed: “It’s 2020. Girls and boys are allowed to be friends, what has this world come to?”
Maura’s response comes after The Sun reported that Alex was photographed driving away from her flat on Saturday, with the publication claiming they’d spent “several hours” together.
There have been reports recently that Alexander and wife Carlotta Edwards’ marriage is in “crisis”, however they have denied rumours with a series of loved-up posts.
Meanwhile, Maura is newly single after splitting up with her Love Island boyfriend Curtis Pritchard just a few weeks ago.

It has also been reported that the Dancing On Ice cast of 2020 were “banned” from speaking about Maura and Alex.
A source alleged to the Sun Online: “They told everyone that nobody should make a comment on social media or talk to fans or media about the story – even if it’s to defend Maura or Alexander.”
While Maura has denied any romance with her Dancing On Ice partner, the same can’t be said for her co-star Kevin Kilbane.
The former footballer got engaged to his partner Brianne Delcourt after skating together this year.
