Maya’s latest social media update comes days after she announced her departure from Radio 1 after two years hosting her own show on the station.
The BBC confirmed last week that the star has “made the difficult decision not to continue her contract” due to other commitments.
Maya said: “Thanks to all you cuties that tuned into the show. It was so great to hear that we have been getting the largest proportion of under 35s tuning in for our on-demand show via BBC Sounds. So we are going out with a bang! Love you.”
BBC Controller Popular Music, Lorna Clarke said: “We’d like to thank Maya for all her commitment and work at Radio 1, and we wish her all the very best with her future.”

Radio 1 has a temporary schedule in place during the coronavirus crisis with a smaller number of presenters rotating each week. Jordan North and Dev and Alice will be continuing to cover Weekend Morning on Radio 1, on rotation.
The news of Maya’s departure comes shortly after it was revealed that she had landed a leading woman role on her BBC3 show Ibiza Dreams.
Meanwhile, Spice Girl Mel C is now reportedly in talks with the BBC to secure her own radio show with the network.
