Meghan Markle's forgotten films – from a snog with Russell Brand to a drug binge

It is no secret that Meghan Markle has endured a successful career as an actress, stemming back to the early noughties and long before she met Prince Harry.

In 2018, Meghan’s life and career changed forever after she tied the knot with Prince Harry, leading to her ditching her paralegal role on Suits, as she became a part of the monarchy.

Earlier this year, the couple made history, becoming the first royals to announce that they were stepping away from their duties and would work towards becoming financially-independent.

Looking to take on new projects, Meghan has already landed a role with Disney. However, her voiceover on Disneynature’s Elephant has already divided critics.

As Meghan tries to get her foot firmly back into the glamorous world of Hollywood, Daily Star Online decided to take a swift glance back at some of her forgotten films.

From manhood distractions, secret snogs, snorting cocaine in toilets and bog roll dresses, Meghan has really flexed her acting skills over the years.

Meghan wasn’t always the style icon either, in fact in the TV movie When Sparks Fly is probably one dress she’d like to forget.

Markle played the lead role of journalist Amy, who is sent back to her hometown to get the scoop, while changing her fast-paced lifestyle.

She is forced to play maid of honour to her best friend Hank, played by Christopher Jacot, and his new bride – despite having feelings for him.

At the hen do, the bridal party are asked to make dresses completely of toilet roll – in this current climate, they’d probably fetch a fortune now.

Meghan’s frilly toilet paper dress, complete with matching hair bow is certainly striking and not one to be missed.

Low-budget films must feel like a thing of the past to the royal family member who did eventually land her dream role.

Back in 2011, she starred in unknown film Dysfunctional Friends, that saw her add commentary about the size of a male model’s manhood.

While in character, she snaps away from behind the camera while the model strikes a number of poses in his tight underwear.

The comedy scene sees Meghan ask her subject to “tuck it in” after his bulge had distracted her from her work.

She serves no other than Vampire extravaganza Robert Pattinson, who plays the lead role of Tyler Keats Hawkins

Meghan’s first husband, Trevor Engelson, who she divorced back in 2013, was a producer of the film and is said to have landed Markle to role.

It was unknown that Meghan was even in this film until Russell Branded lifted the lid on a steamy snog.

Funnyman Brand confessed on Loose Women that he and Meghan had shared a steamy onscreen encounter before she had met Harry.

Russell said: “She was in a film that I was in, Get Him to the Greek, it was a good film.

“Meghan Markle, I didn’t know at the time because she wasn’t married to a Royal person, I think I planted one on her in the scene.”

This was very much an “out-there” role for Meghan, unlike any other she’d done before.

The Boys Guide to Getting Down is exactly what it says on the tin, an outrageous TV Movie about sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll.

In one scene, Meghan’s character Dana can be seen in scantily-clad attire, as she snorts cocaine in the bathroom.

Meghan Markle was desperate to make it big in the early 2000s and starred in the film Deceit, which unfortunately didn’t go down well with critics.

It was the Hollywood role that she had always dreamed of, before she became popular on the American hit Suits.

The movie centres around a sweet an innocent woman (Meghan) who comes between two childhood friends in a small hometown.

The film only ended up being released in cinemas in Hungary.

Meghan was simply credited as the “hot girl” as the titles roll at the end of the film.

It was a very brief stint and if you blinked, you probably wouldn’t even have noticed that the Duchess of Sussex had even appeared in the film.

Markle played a one-scene role in the 2005 romantic comedy A Lot Like Love starring Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet.

She takes to her seat on the plane and just so happens to be sat next to American hunk Ashton, when an arrogant self -onfessed millionaire gravitates towards Meghan to brag about his fortunes.
