Michael Jackson 'predicted coronavirus – which is why he wore face mask'

Michael Jackson has been dead since 2009, but it appears he could tell the future as his former bodyguard has claimed the singer predicted a global pandemic, like the coronavirus, would take over the world.

MJ’s British bodyguard Matt Fiddes has come out and said that the King of Pop wore his trademark black face mask because he feared that the population could be wiped out by a germ “at any time”.

The 41-year-old, who worked with Michael for 10 years, said: “He was very aware and would always predict that we could be wiped out at any time. That a germ could spread.”

Matt said that he would ask his boss not to wear his face mask because he was getting embarrassed when he was getting photographed with him.

But, Matt added to The Sun: “He would say, ‘Matt I can’t get ill, I can’t let my fans down.

“I’ve got concerts coming up. I’m on this earth of a reason. I mustn’t damage my voice,

“I’ve got to stay healthy, I don’t know who I’m going to encounter today, I don’t know what I might pass on.'”

So far, more than 17,000 people have died around the world because of the coronavirus, with more than 390,000 confirmed cases of the disease.

And, according to Matt, the Thriller hitmaker would tell people: “I told you so.”

He continued: “Then he’d be moaning that no one is listening to him because when he used to say stuff like that people didn’t take him seriously, they used to call him ‘Wacko Jacko’ and all this stuff.”

However Matt said that “you don’t get to be the biggest superstar in the world and not be intelligent”.

It had previously been reported that Michael would wear the face masks to hide recent plastic surgeries, his vitiligo, or to give himself a sense of space away from paparazzi.

Michael’s eery prediction comes after his official Twitter account sparked speculation that he was still alive.

On Monday, the account shared a photo of Michael in his face mask, with the words “be smart and stay safe”.
