Grant Imahara has died aged 49.
The electrical engineer was best known for his presenting role on Mythbusters, broadcasted on the Discovery Channel.
A spokesperson for the Discovery channel confirmed his death.
The television company said: “We are heartbroken to hear this sad news about Grant.
“He was an important part of our Discovery family and a really wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.”
Grant joined the hit series Mythbusters in its third season, replacing Scottie Chapman. He stayed with the show until 2014 with co-stars Kari Byron and Tory Belleci.

The three later went on to front Netflix’s White Rabbit Project, which was commissioned for one series.
Imahara, Byron and Belleci conducted scientific experiments and focused on topics including World War II weaponry.
Grant’s Mythbusters co-host Adam Savage took to Twitter to lead the tributes to the late presenter.

He tweeted: “I’m at a loss. No words. I’ve been part of two big families with Grant Imahara over the last 22 years.
“Grant was a truly brilliant engineer, artist and performer, but also just such a generous, easygoing, and gentle PERSON. Working with Grant was so much fun. I’ll miss my friend.”
Before landing his television presenting career, Grant contributed to films such as Star Wars, Jurassic Park, The Matrix Reloaded and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.

Born in Los Angeles, California, Grant studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California.
He later went on to secure a post-grad rile at Lucasfilm’s THX labs.
TMZ reported that he died from a brain aneurysm on Monday afternoon.
Grant is survived by his fiancée, costume designer Jennifer Newman.
Fans have instantly taken to social media to pay tribute to the star.
“RIP Grant Imahara. My 8-year-old has just discovered Mythbusters and is loving it. Your legacy will live on in kids like mine will continue to look up to you. Thank you. #mythbusters” penned one.
A second added: “Wow SO sad to hear about the passing of Grant Imahara #RIPGrantImahara #Mythbusters.”
While a third fan added: “The Myth Busters was a huge influence on me growing up. It taught me how I could build anything I set my mind to, and that every setback is an opportunity to learn. @grantimahara will be missed.”
