Naya Rivera's Glee co-star Kevin McHale says Cory Monteith 'helped find body'

Glee star Kevin McHale has said dead co-star Cory Monteith “helped find” Naya Rivera after she went missing in a lake.

The late actress’ body was recovered from Lake Piru earlier yesterday, six days after the 33-year-old was first declared missing.

And now her co-star and friend Kevin has taken to his official Twitter account to share a sweet and hopeful theory he has as to how she was found.

Quote-retweeting a video of Naya and Corey hugging fans, Kevin penned a message above the clip to his 1.3million followers.

The star wrote about how he believes Cory “helped find” Naya, who was out on the lake with her four-year-old son Josey when she likely drowned, according to police.

He tweeted: “I’m not religious by any means, but you’d be hard-pressed to convince me that Cory didn’t help find our girl today.

“These 2, in many ways, were the male and female versions of one another.

“So nice, cared deeply, were stupidly talented, the most fun, and really really good people.”

“You are absolutely right, I have all day thinking the same thing, this was more than a coincidence, Cory guided Naya back home, now they are together in a better place,” tweeted another in response.

Another commented: “Cory 100% guided us to her today. they are with each other now, talking it up and reminiscing on the past.”

Describing her final moments, Ventura County official, Sheriff Bill Ayub, said: “It would be speculation to say at this point there are a lot of currents in the lake that appear particularly in the afternoon.

“We believe it was mid-afternoon when she disappeared, the idea perhaps being that the boat started drifting. It was unanchored.

“She mustered enough energy to get her son back on the boat but not enough energy to save herself.”
