Nicole Scherzinger risks backlash by laughing at Lindsay Lohan diss

Nicole Scherzinger has risked backlash from viewers of The Masked Singer US after breaking into hysterics after one of the show’s mystery contestants made a savage joke about Lindsay Lohan.

During the latest episode of the American series, which aired on ITV this weekend, the celebrity panel tried to guess who was behind the bug mask.

After Ken Jeong guessed it was Lindsay behind the mask the mystery star started to storm off the stage.

As the unknown star started to wave an angry double thumbs down, Ken continued: “I know you don’t like her but that is a reaction that maybe Lindsay would have.”

Nicole laughed as the mystery star dissed Lindsay Lohan

As the mystery red ladybird costumed contestant made more rude gestures judge Nicole started to burst out laughing.

Finding the situation hilarious, the Pussycat Doll playfully wiped away tears from her face as they joked about the former child star.

Earlier this month Lindsay confirmed she won’t return to the Australian version of the show, where she is a judge.

Lindsay Lohan was tipped to be the singer behind the mask

Rather than falling out of love with the kooky series, the decision has been blamed on the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Channel 10 confirmed in a statement: “Due to the current international travel complications Lindsay Lohan will not be a panellist on The Masked Singer this season.

“While we are disappointed that Lindsay can’t join us, we are lucky enough to have a sensational new panelist on the desk for this season.

“They will join Jackie O [Henderson], Dannii Minogue and Dave Hughes, along with 12 new celebrities and 12 new masks.

“We can hear you yelling ‘take it off’ from here, but we will unmask our new panelist very soon.”

Meanwhile, the second series of the UK version is expected to come later this year.

The Masked Singer US continues on ITV next Saturday
