Only Fools and Horses: The Musical say they’d love to star on Broadway

The cast of Only Fools and Horses The Musical say they’d love to star on Broadway after its roaring West End success.

But they have admitted a US audience would struggle to understand the jokes from the classic sitcom.

Ryan Hutton, who plays Rodney, said: “If it went to Broadway I would love it. I’m not sure how the American audience would take to it.

“I would love to go over there and take the three-wheeler..”

Paul Whitehouse, who stars as Grandad, added: “It’s so British isn’t it.”

The show celebrated its first birthday this week, after repeatedly being extended. And its stars have been blown away by its success.

Del Boy actor Tom Bennett said: “It’s amazing that we are still here. It’s a joy and a privilege to do it.”

Paul said: “We’re very proud of it. It’s a lovely achievement.”

The comic added that Sir David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst, who starred in the TV series, still haven’t been to seen the show.

Sir David didn’t want to “undermine the cast” as the audience would go “mental”, Paul said.

He added: “We don’t mind, it’s about the punters.”

This comes after organisers of an Only Fools And Horses convention came under fire for charging fans £375 for a snap with Del Boy star Sir David Jason.

But fans were left feeling less than cushty after the eye-watering ticket prices were released.

Punters had to pay up to £375 to pose for a photo and get an autograph from Sir David, 80.
