Peter Andre rows with Emily as he tries to stop her sending kids back to school

Peter Andre and wife Emily entered into a healthy debate on the subject of sending their children back to school, as part of their new reality show, Life With The Andres.

The pair who share Amelia, six, and Theo, three, seemed to share a difference of opinion and were both vocal with their views when it came to the kids returning to school.

With the government’s controversial plans to ease lockdown coming into force and schools reopening again as of Monday June 1, it is an issue that has not only divided the Andres but the nation too.

However, it won’t be business as usual, as only a minority of pupils are expected to return at this stage, with Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 of primary schools, and secondary schools expecting to see some of year 10 and 12 students returning as of June 15.

During an episode of Life With The Andres, it was reassuring for fans to see that they weren’t alone when it comes to sharing an opposing opinion on the matter.

Peter, who has been schooling the children during lockdown, was avidly protesting that he would prefer for the kids to remain at home.

Emily, 30, who is a doctor and has been working tirelessly on the frontline battling Covid-19, disagreed and felt it was right and important for the children to return to school.

Speaking to camera, he said: “We very rarely have opposite views – but I don’t think they should go back tomorrow and Emily thinks they should.”

Confessing that Emily verdict had overruled, he said: “The only reason I’m going with what Emily says is because she’s a doctor. If it was up to me I’d say no.”

Testing to see if Emily would be willing to negotiate on the matter, Peter commented: “Me and you have different views on this … Even if there’s one tiny bit of risk, why would I wanna put my kids in that position?

“I feel like we’re putting them in a situation where they are the guinea pigs. I have got this fear of the unknown, and just think they’ve all been happy here, safe here.

“The only reason I would do that is because you are a doctor and if you think it is safe then I believe you.”

Responding with her view as a NHS worker, Emily added: “There’s a risk when you step outside your front door of anything …

“I understand for you it feels like this big fear that is outside of our control. The point is there is no right or wrong answer, it’s on balance what you think is the right thing to do.”
