Peter Andre's wife Emily left pained after being forced to reject son's cuddle

Peter Andre ‘s wife Emily MacDonagh looked visibly pained after she was forced to reject her three-year-old son’s gesture for a cuddle after she’d returned from her duties on the NHS frontline.

The 31-year-old, who is a doctor working in a hospital, has long stipulated that before she’ll have any interactions with her family, she’ll remove her uniform and take a shower.

Having witnessed first hand the devastation of the coronavirus pandemic, she knows more so than anyone how vital it is to protect love ones by sanitising and taking appropriate measures.

The mum-of-two showcased how Covid-19 has taken its toll and still continues to affect everyday life for her entire family.

With cases on the rise in the UK and the cold weather sending temperatures plummeting, Emily wasn’t taking any chances while sporting her NHS work uniform.

The clip from the family’s YouTube series, Life With The Andres appeared on The Sun.

It saw Emily postpone the hug as doting husband Peter, 47, prepared their evening meal.

A happy Theo was delighted to see his mum walk in through the door after a lengthy shift and beckoned for her attention.

Looking distraught at having to say no, she said: “Let me go and get changed and I’ll come and give you a big cuddle.”

Of course, being a toddler and in need of affection, he urged for his needs to be met “now” and not later like his mum had suggested.

Knowing that Theo was about to become upset and understanding that Emily needed to vanish to ensure safety was maintained for everyone, he stepped in to distract his son.

The Mysterious Girl hitmaker urged: “Theo, mummy’s got to go and get changed. Then we’re going to give her a nice big meal.”

To which Emily chirped back: “I’m starving. Give me two minutes and I’ll go and get changed.”

As a frontline worker, Emily has continually aired her concerns about passing the virus onto her brood.

Previously she told the Daily Mirror: “Of course I’m worried that I could potentially bring it home to the kids, but I’m trying to be sensible and washing my hands and changing out of my clothes straight away before having a shower.”
