Pictures tonight show a bodybag being taken away from the lake where Glee star Naya Rivera vanished.
Images show a body being put in an ambulance for formal identification after it was confirmed earlier that a discovery had been made in the search for the 33-year-old.
The photos show an orange tent on the jetty next to a stationary boat, with police surrounding it.
Another image showed a white van waiting to take the body away to be identified.
It has not been confirmed if it is the body of the missin Glee actress – who played Santana Lopez in the show.
The pictures come after the Ventura County Sheriff Department tweeted that a body had been found at Lake Piru today.
The account posted: “Happening now: A body has been found at Lake Piru this morning. The recovery is in progress. A news conference will take place at 2pm at the lake.”
Naya was reported missing last Wednesday after her four-year-old son Josey was spotted alone on the pontoon boat they’d chartered on Lake Piru in California.
The actress was last spotted getting onto the pontoon boat with Josey at 1pm that day.
Josey told police at the time that his mother had “jumped into the water but had not come back up,” according to TMZ.
An extensive search of the lake has been undertaken, which has involved divers, cadaver dogs and sonar to scan the bottom of the lake, which has poor visibility and in some places is 100 feet (30 metres) deep.
Naya has been “presumed drowned” since last Wednesday’s disappearance.
The news of a body being recovered comes as police recently advised for fans of the missing Glee star to not take part in the search for her.
Police tweeted: “For those intent on searching for Naya Rivera on your own, 1. The lake is closed. 2. Temps are already in the 90’s. 3. The terrain around the lake is very steep and rugged.
“Our teams are well equipped and highly trained. We don’t want to have to rescue you.”
