Piers Morgan has thrown his support behind Diversity after Britain’s Got Talent received more than 10,000 Ofcom complaints for their routine, which was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement.
Speaking about the routine on Twitter today, Piers said that he was “proud” of the dance troupe.
Piers retweeted a post made by Diversity member Ashley Banjo to his followers.
Ashley’s post read: “For the thousands of messages of hate and ignorance – Thank you.
“You highlight exactly what needs to change.
“Sending nothing but love to you all.”
Piers retweeted Ashley’s comment and said: “I thought it was great.

“Ignore the haters, Ashley. Proud of you.”
The powerful routine saw a man dressed as a police officer put his knee on lead dancer Ashley’s neck in reference to the death of George Floyd.
It was reported yesterday that the Britain’s Got Talent routine had the second highest number of complaints in a decade, with 10,267 complaints in total.

The most complained about moment of the decade is the infamous Celebrity Big Brother “punch gate” between Roxanne Pallett and Ryan Thomas.
A staggering 25,327 made official complaints about how the actress behaved and how CBB dealt with the issue.
In third place was Kim Woodburn’s appearance on Loose Women where she clashed with Coleen Nolan and accused show bosses of tricking her so she could be ganged up on on camera.

The toe-curling moment picked up 7,912 complaints to Ofcom.
Ashley is filling in for Simon Cowell as a judge on the latest series of BGT, which sees him sit on the panel alongside Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden.
Simon isn’t taking part this series due to a broken back.
He fell off his new electric bike while trying it out in the grounds of his Malibu home and has since had surgery and is recovering at home.
