Piers Morgan jibes Ant McPartlin's ex Lisa 'hurt his feelings' with book drama

Piers Morgan joked he was feeling a little “hurt” this morning, after hearing Lisa Armstrong had reportedly given away a copy of his book, which had belonged to her ex-husband Ant McPartlin – something Lisa has now denied.

The Good Morning Britain host was joined by Charlotte Hawkins and Susanna Reid on the show this morning, as the conversation turned to his autobiography.

Piers admitted he was affronted when he heard his pal Lisa, who does his makeup on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, apparently hadn’t been keen on keeping a copy of his memoir on her bookshelf.

The Sun reported makeup artist Lisa left a box of her ex-hubby’s unwanted belongings outside her home, offering the contents as a free giveaway.

They claimed inside the box was Piers’ 2015 book The Insider: The Private Diaries of a Scandalous Decade New Ed.

Lisa has now said she didn’t give away the book.

Before he knew that, Piers pretended to be upset, claiming he thought he was “friends ” with Ant and his ex-wife Lisa before learning they had no need for his tell-all memoir.

He said: “I don’t know why, it has really hurt me so much.”

Piers started off by saying “Lisa, out of common decency…”

Only for Susanna to finish: “…put it in the bin at least!”

When Susanna wondered why Piers was bringing the giveaway up on a national news show, he replied that he “just wanted to shame her”.

Susanna laughed: “The danger is she’ll get all your other books now.”

Piers then suggested that ITV send a reporter out to Lisa’s home to check whether the book had been taken by a passerby, promising to send a copy to one lucky viewer.

He added: “That’s really got to me this morning.”

Prompting Susanna, referring to both Ant and Lisa, to wonder: “That neither of them wanted it?”

Looking miffed, he finished: “That’s really got to me. Terrible.”

Later on the show, Lisa sent Piers a text, which he read out on-air.

Lisa told him: “Oh my God, I’m so sorry wasn’t me I’m not even there.

“I don’t think I’ve even seen that book, are you mad at me?”

Piers replied: “Yes! I’m not mad at you, I just want my book back.”

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays at 6am on ITV
