The 55-year-old Good Morning Britain presenter furiously penned a tweet to his 7.6m followers on Twitter, slamming the alleged pranksters.
Piers wrote angrily: “To the pranksters currently contacting all my famous friends asking them to tape a contribution to my obituary for ITN… maybe stop being annoying little d**kheads?”
Fans responding to Piers’ post, poking fun at the presenter for using the phrase “famous friends”.

Morgan has spent some time away from the UK for the summer, enjoying an extended family break in the South of France.
However, their getaway didn’t end well, as Piers and wife Celia Walden had their rented holiday home invaded as they slept.
Celia, 44, told of how “depraved and despicable” robbers targeted their home in Côte d’Azur in her account written in the Daily Telegraph.

She wrote: “I knew the second I walked into the sitting room that something was wrong… My handbag was upside-down on the sofa, the box I keep my jewellery in lying empty beside it.
“But then I remembered something that made me feel sick: the up-turned handbag found in the sitting room had originally been on a chair in our bedroom.
“They must have crept in there and stood inches away from us while we slept.”
