Piers Morgan has confirmed he’s tested negative for coronavirus.
The 55-year-old Good Morning Britain presenter explained last night that he had taken a test for Covid-19 and would not return to screens until he got the results back.
Instead, Ben Shephard replaced Piers on Monday on GMB as he joined Susanna Reid to present the show.
Taking to Twitter, the father-of-four revealed his doctors advised him to take a test after he showed symptoms.
He wrote: “My Covid-19 test was negative. I was advised to take the test by my doctor after developing possible coronavirus symptoms, and was entitled to do so as a government-designated essential worker.

“I’ll be back on Good Morning Britain as soon as my doctor advises I’m OK to return to work.”
Susanna Reid previously spoke about Piers’ health issues with Dr Hilary on GMB, asking the general practitioner to explain why they could all still be in the studio.
He said: “I spoke to Piers yesterday, he doesn’t have symptoms that are normally associated. It doesn’t effect us here in the studio because we’re practising strict social distancing.”

Ben joked: “Did he just want a lie in, is that it Hilary?”
Susanna laughed as she quipped: “I think he just wanted to get his car cleaned.”
Piers tweeted last night: “Update: On medical advice, and out of an abundance of caution for a mild symptom that arose in past 48 hours, I’ve had a test for Covid-19 and so won’t be working on GMB until I get the result back, which should be tomorrow.”
Fans and celeb pals sent the star their well wishes after he raised concern, though it turns out the virus wasn’t the issue after all.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am
