Playboy Playmate Sunshine Shen has opened up on being “blessed” after being chosen as the ultimate playmate, Playmate of the Year.
The 28-year-old first started posing for the famous lad’s mag six years ago but never saw herself gracing front pages and centrefolds.
Sunshine, who now resides in Beverly Hills, claims her career feels “like some sort of insane out of body experience!”
She grew up in Harebin, China, before moving to Florida aged seven with her family.
Speaking about being picked for the prestigious title, she told Playboy Aus: “I was taken completely by surprise when the news came about.

“I couldn’t believe that not only do I already have the honour of the Playmate title but now I’m officially Playmate of the Year.”
Hugh Hefner was known for hosting lavish parties at the infamous Playboy Mansion in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles.
Recalling her favourite moment of her career, she said: “One of my best memories would be being a part of the last ever Midsummer Night’s Dream party at the Playboy Mansion.
“It was the last time a lot of us painted ladies got to see each other at the Mansion.”
However, despite meeting world-famous celebrities, Sunshine added that the most interesting person she has met is her fiancé.
The redheaded beauty claims that spirituality helped change her life following a traumatic ordeal, which saw her former friend set her up to be robbed.
“I lost everything that I devoted my entire life to obtain up to that point, and it actually helped me become the person I am today,” she said.
Divulging about the late Hugh Hefner, Sunshine recalled him being in “good humour” regardless of his age.
“His favourite topics of discussion would have to be history and cinematography,” she said.
It wasn’t always plain sailing for the cover girl who once claimed that Hugh didn’t like her as much as he did the blonde bombshell look.
She added: “I’m not quite sure that it was him I won over. I was lucky enough to be included into his family and friends circle by his best friend and physician at the time.
“I think Playboy as a global brand just had to get with the times and move onto more modern and exotic tastes in order to please their readers.”
She was later hand-selected by Hefner to become a legendary Painted Lady, following in the footsteps of the likes of Kendra Wilkinson.
