Rachel Riley has blasted Eamonn Holmes following his “controversial” comments on the link between Covid-19 and 5G during a recent segment on This Morning.
ITV viewers were left shocked when Ruth Langsford’s husband suggested there could be a link between 5G masts and the deadly virus as he talks conspiracy theories.
At the time, Eamonn said: “What I don’t accept is mainstream media immediately slapping that down as not true when they don’t know it’s not true.
“No one should attack or damage or do anything like that but it’s very easy to say it is not true because it suits the state narrative.
“That is all I would say as someone of an enquiring mind.”
He was later criticised on social media and by scientists who dismissed the theories as “complete rubbish”.
However the next morning on the show he said he doesn’t believe the theory that 5G has caused coronavirus is valid, and was simply “looking for answers”.

Speaking to the Radio Times, Rachel explained she had disagreed with the 60-year-old when he decided to invite conspiracy theorist David Icke on his radio show and admitted she didn’t think the popular daytime show would broadcast “ridiculous theories”.
She told the publication: “And I’ve also been working on some anti-misinformation campaigns for Stop Funding Fake News.
“There are a lot of people trying to make money by spreading lies about coronavirus, whether it’s quack remedies or stupid conspiracy theories about 5G.
She added that the comments made by Eamonn were “dangerous” and not what she expects would be broadcast on a “trusted” programme such as This Morning.
She explained: “It’s dangerous, especially when these things get repeated on shows that you’re expected to trust.
“I’ve fallen out with Eamonn Holmes before, when he had David Icke on his radio show, but you don’t expect to see ridiculous theories about 5G being repeated on This Morning.”

Eamonn’s 5G comments sparked 419 complaints to Ofcom and the TV watchdog said they’re assessing the remarks made by the presenter “as a priority”.
Following his outlook on the 5G debate, he later said that there’s no link between mobile signals and coronavirus, but that many are “looking for answers and that’s simply what I was trying to do”.
