Radiohead's Thom Yorke marries girlfriend Dajana Roncione at Sicilian villa

Radiohead star Thom Yorke has married his girlfriend Dajana Roncione.

The loved-up pair tied the knot at a villa in Sicily.

The pair’s nuptials comes four years after the tragic death of Thom’s former partner Dr Rachel Owen.

Thom, 51, married Italian actress Dajana, 36, at the luxurious 18th century Italian vila on Saturday, Vanity Fair reported.

During the romantic celebrations, the couple ensured guests all stuck to the country’s social distancing guidelines amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Therefore, the couple opted not to have a dance floor and their 120 guests all wore masks.

Media outlet La Republica reported that Thom and Dajana also made the catering staff take Covid-19 tests ahead of their big day.

It is believed that Thom’s fellow Radiohead bandmates – Jonny and Colin Greenwood, Ed O’Brien and Philip Selway were also in attendance at the nuptials.

Speaking ahead of their big day, Thom told Vanity Fair: “Despite all the difficulties caused by the global pandemic, we are proud and happy to get married here in Sicily. Sicily is Dajana’s native island.

Dr Rachel, who Thom shared children Noah and Agnes with, died from cancer at the age of 48.

Pembroke College, where Dr Rachel was a lecturer, shared a heartfelt tribute at the time of her death.

It read: “‘It is with great sadness that the College marks the death of Dr Rachel Owen.

“Despite her declining health from cancer in the last year, she asked to continue to teach, which she did right until the end of last Michaelmas term. She was 48 years old and leaves behind a son, Noah, and a daughter, Agnes, aged 15 and 12”
