The year before he released his fifth stand-up special was released on Netflix, called Humanity.
It was the funnyman’s first stand-up special since back in 2010.

He continued: “Now this is out, I will have to get my family a million scratch cards each for Christmas.”
“I have decided to use the rest of the money to take over Libya. (I know I said I was going to start with Egypt but Karl said it was awful.)”

The comedy genius also starred in and wrote Channel 4’s documentary-style comedy Derek.

Gervais is believed to have been paid $20million (£16million) by Netflix for his newest stand-up special.
No doubt he also got paid a hefty sum for presenting the Golden Globes, which he has done four times.
Gervais has been with his partner Jane Fallon since 1982 – but the couple have never married.
This is because “there’s no point in us having an actual ceremony before the eyes of God because there is no God.”
The couple do not have any children, and he told The Times it was because they “didn’t fancy dedicating 16 years of our lives. And there are too many children, of course.”
He touches more upon the subject of why he does not have children in Humanity.
