Robert Pattinson 'tests positive for Covid-19' halting The Batman filming

Robert Pattinson has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus, with filming on The Batman “temporarily paused”.

Production company Warner Bros confirmed in a statement: “A member of The Batman production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused.”

While the company did not confirm that former Twilight star Robert, 34, was the one who had tested positive, Vanity Fair report he is the one in question.

According to the publication, he contracted the deadly virus just days into production after it resumed on the Hollywood flick.

Warner Bros did not comment on the health of specific members of production but sources reportedly confirmed it to the publication.

Meanwhile, a movie mole told MailOnline: “We have been sent a memo telling us that a member of the crew has had a positive Covid-19 test.

“Everyone was talking on the set about it. We do not know who has tested positive, but it has caused chaos to the schedule.”

Filming had only just started again three days ago after the pandemic and lockdown caused it to shut down back in March.

The crew returned to studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire in August to work on the blockbuster sets after most of them had been placed on furlough.

It’s thought that this second delay will cost Warner Bros hundreds of thousands of pounds, as well as potentially pushing back the release of the film.

Back in March, British actor Robert had to stay in the UK with the other cast members when production came to a stop.

Others, who live in LA, have since come back to the UK but had to spend two weeks in quarantine before they could return to set, as per the Government guidelines.

A source said: “Everyone was looking forward to getting back to work and it’s come as a blow that production has stopped just three days after we began filming.

“We have all been told to stand down until further notice and we are not expecting to be back filming for at least two weeks.”

It’s reported that there is still three months worth of filming to complete, with an October 2021 release date the aim.
