Ross Kemp looks unrecognisable after wasp sting leaves him with swollen face

TV hardman Ross Kemp has said he “looks like Mick Jagger” after getting stung by angry wasps so many times his lips swelled up.

The former Eastenders actor thanked the NHS on Twitter after sharing his gruesome injury in a series of videos he uploaded on the social media site.

Talking directly to the camera, the 56-year-old says: “I look like Mick Jagger don’t I?

“Well, that’s what happens if you get stung by about three or four wasps in the nasal and lip area.”

He adds: “Be careful with those critters – don’t go upsetting them by opening up a loft space without asking their permission first.”

In another clip, he said a “very cool” doctor had given him the steroid hydrocortisone to treat the swelling on his face and said the NHS was “fantastic”.

He also joked that his name was “Wasp Kemp” and had a go at singing the Rolling Stones hit “I can’t get no satisfaction”, before giving up due to the pain.

Kemp’s fans had every bit of sympathy with his unenviable injuries but couldn’t help laughing at him too.

Joking about the size of his lips, one fan wrote; “Ross Kemp kicking about, like a 19-year-old beauty technician!!”

A second said: “Imagine being shot at, RPG’d, run the gauntlet on ant hill with IEDs only to take more damage from a few wasps cos he needed something out of the loft!”

Someone else tweeted: “I’m allergic to bees, I feel your pain.

“Looking like Homer Simpson does lend a little levity to the moment though.”

Ross Kemp has recently revealed that his former Eastenders co-star Barbara Windsor doesn’t recognise him or even know who is anymore.

He described the tragic health decline of his on-screen mum for his documentary Living With Dementia.
