Russell Crowe has left viewers amazed at his new look after he posted a video to help spread the word of a charity being spearheaded by Johnny Vegas to fight coronavirus.
Johnny, 49, is an ambassador for the Steve Prescott Foundation and has been helping deliver food to vulnerable people and key workers in his hometown of St Helens in Merseyside.
And he has enlisted the help of Hollywood A-lister Russell, who took to Twitter yesterday in a message to his 2.7million followers.
With scraggly hair and a white beard, the 55-year-old says: “G’day folks, how you doing? This is a message on behalf of my old mate Johnny Vegas.
“If you’re in the St Helens area; if you’re having trouble getting food deliveries from your local supermarket; if you’re NHS staff – a key worker, elderly, isolating, vulnerable, call this number – 01744 881881.

“The Steve Prescott Foundation and the Blackbrook rugby league team have set up a delivery service and they can help you out, they can pick up your shopping, they can maybe even pick up your medicine.
“One of the delivery workers is going to be Johnny Vegas though, so expect to lose every second or third biscuit.”
To finish off with a bit of comedy, Russell turned the camera to show his awards stand and in his best British accent said: “What’s that back there? Oh look at that, that’s fancy.”
The message of support to the Brit comedian was praised by plenty of viewers, but it was the actor’s appearance that truly mystified his fans.
Hundreds flocked to the comments section to suggest Russell didn’t look anything like himself and actually more similar to other celebrities.
“Can’t fool me, that’s not Russell Crowe, that’s David Bellamy putting on a dodgy Ozzie accent,” one joked.
Another commented he looked like The Royle Family’s Jim Royle, saying: “Seriously thought that was Jim Royle before I put that video on.”

Many celebrities have used their fame and fortune to help fight coronavirus in recent weeks.
Taylor Swift donated $3,000 (£2,400) to a fan struggling to pay for bills while Angelina Jolie has given $1million (£843,000) to fight child hunger.
Tennis superstar Roger Federer has also donated 1million Swiss francs (£861,000) “for the most vulnerable families” in Switzerland.
And Scottish actor James McAvoy has donated £275,000 to the Masks For NHS Heroes campaign.
