Ruth Langsford tells Dr Alex 'I understand your pain' after brother's death

Love Island ‘s Dr Alex George has had This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford reach out to offer support after the tragic death of his brother Llŷr.

Dr Alex announced on Friday that his brother, who is ten years younger than him, died after a mental health battle.

Knowing all to well the suffering that Alex and his entire family now face, Ruth offered up her support.

The 60-year-old This Morning star bravely spoke up about her own experiences when offering condolences to reality star.

Understanding the pain, she plucked up the courage to speak about her own loss of loved one to mental health.

Alex lost his younger brother to mental health two days ago

Ruth sadly lost her sister Julia after she had taken her own life last June at the age of 62.

Two days ago, Alex took to his platform to share the tragic news, it was on this post that Ruth muscled up the courage to share personal suffering in an emotional tribute.

She penned: “Alex, I am so so sorry for your tragic loss. I lost my sister to mental health last year so I understand the pain and shock you and your family will be feeling.

“I send you the hugest of hugs and if you ever need to talk you know how to reach me.

“My condolences to you and your family and may your darling brother rest in peace.”

The doctor turned TV was left heartbroken that his 20-year-old brother Llŷr’s had passed, momentarily before he was due to to follow in his siblings footsteps and join medical school.

Struggling to process what had happened, Alex emotionally wrote on Friday: “I can’t believe I am actually writing this post.

“I have lost my beautiful little brother to mental health. I love you so much Llÿr. The kindest and most caring soul.

“I was so proud of you starting medical school next month, you would have been the most incredible doctor.

“We are hurting so bad. No words can explain.

“As a family we are devastated.”
