Sam Smith burgled twice in one year prompting major security overhaul of pop icon

Vocal powerhouse Sam Smith is said to be determined to keep their new £12 million mansion on lockdown after one of their former homes was burgled twice in a single year.

The Too Good At Goodbyes singer is understood to have drafted in a security specialist to make sure history doesn’t repeat itself.

The property in question is believed to be a sprawling five bedroom Grade II listed home in Hampstead, north London.

According to The Sun, Sam has applied for permission to upgrade the home’s security with state of the art CCTV camera, motion seniors and entry system monitors.

A source said: “Security will be a priority for anyone who’s had their house broken into once, let alone twice, and Sam is no exception.

“The attitude is if more money is needed to make this new home feel safe and comfortable, so be it.”

The publication adds that in a letter to the local council, Sam’s planning agent said: “The proposals have been drawn up following consultation with a security specialist and analysis of the security issues.”

Last week Madonna was forced to axe the final few dates of her Madame X world tour after the French government banned mass gatherings in a bid to control the outbreak of the virus.

Madonna had been due to wrapped up the trek at Le Grand Rex theatre in Paris, though while she managed to perform an handful of dates at the venue her mini residency was cut short.
