SAS: Who Dares Wins Ollie Ollerton 'dropped' in Channel 4 diversity shake-up bid

SAS: Who Dares Wins fans will be disappointed to hear that Ollie Ollerton will not be returning to the next series of the brutal Channel 4 series.

Military veteran Ollie has decided to step away from being one of the instructors on the toughest show on telly.

The former Special Forces officer who turns 50 in December, is reported to be Down Under filming the Austrialian version of SAS: Who Dares Wins.

It has been reported that Ollie will use his break from appearing in the UK edition to focus on his new fitness app, Battle Ready 360.

Ollie’s departure from the show after five years comes amid claims Channel 4 bosses will choose to bring diversity into their pool of directing staff in the new series.

A show insider told The Sun: “The show can’t be faulted for showing diversity within its recruits but the DS’s are all white men of similar age.

“It’s likely this will be rectified in the new series.”

Ollie’s co-star Jay Morton also has plans to leave the show.

He joined the latest civilian series of SAS: Who Dares Wins working undercover for the DS, before joining them for the rest of both civilian and celebrities shows.

SAS: Who Dares Wins bosses have already started planning filming series six amid the coronavirus pandemic.

A statement from SAS: Who Dares Wins reads: “Planning for series 6 of SAS: Who Dares Wins is underway with strict safety measures and protocols in place to ensure a safe filming environment, in line with the government advice.

“Now in its sixth year of filming, some changes have been made. Ollie Ollerton has stepped away from this series after a hugely successful seven series with the show to focus on his new fitness app Battle Ready 360.”

It continued: “Ollie continues to be associated with the SAS: Who Dares Wins brand as a DS for SAS: Who Dares Wins Australia.

“Ollie has made an exceptional contribution to SAS: Who Dares Wins and the expertise and experience he has brought to the DS team has been much valued. We wish him great success with his future projects.

Former solider Ollie posted about finding “a new path with no pain,” following the news that he will not appear the show.

Taking to Twitter this morning, he tweeted: “Just because it suits your circumstances don’t be surprised when it ends if it doesn’t suit your soul.

“Comfort zones can be dangerous places to reside. There’s no real comfort, just habit that is comfortable to repeat.

“You sit within it going through the motions which can be like a life long tooth ache. A simple extraction pushes you into short term discomfort but in turn offers you a new path with no pain.”
