Simon Cowell preparing 'fresh war on Little Mix' with new TV show

Simon Cowell has reportedly instructed his team of top industry creatives to create a brand new show which can eclipse both The X Factor and The Search – the talent show created by Little Mix often billed as his greatest rival.

Little Mix have been forced to delay the live shows of The Search due to the fact they were due to take place in the next couple of months with the grand prize being supporting th girls on tour.

A TV source said: “The show will need to wait until the summer tour is rearranged, which will presumably happen some time in the future.”

The delay is said to have given Simon the perfect window to dream up a new TV ratings hit.

“Having already pulled X Factor, he doesn’t have to worry about that,” an insider continued telling The Sun.

They added: “With the girls’ show shelved, he doesn’t have to compete and can get his team to focus on coming back with something amazing next year.”

While the move is no doubt to set the rumour mill turning that Simon and Little Mix are constantly locking horns, Daily Star Online understand due to X Factor being put on ice and The Greatest Dancer already wrapping up for 2020 Simon and Syco were think up ideas for new shows regardless of Little Mix’s set back.

Speaking in December last year, Little Mix appeared to take a swipe at Cowell and The X Factor.

Jade Thirlwall said: “We’re really going to be there for the contestants, before and after the show.”

She added: “I think there’s going to be elements of all the shows over the years that have done well, which we’ll take a little piece of and create our own version of that.”

Meanwhile, Leigh-Anne Pinnock jibed: “Also, no gimmicks, just good talent. We want to find the best.”

The girls are now signed to RCA – a fellow subsidiary of Sony Music.

Speaking about a clash with Little Mix’s management company, Simon told The Sun at the time: “Basically, they said we’d done a terrible job.

“I had agreed not to talk about this publicly because I thought it was a private matter.

“I said ‘We can’t work with the management, it’s as simple as that’.”

Trying to build bridges, the music mogul added: “As I said in my email to them, I stand by the fact they are the hardest working bunch of girls I’ve ever worked with.

“They deserve everything they’ve got.”
