Simon Cowell makes no secret about being a proud dad when he opens up about life with his son, Eric.
During a chat with American Idol legend Kelly Clarkson, Simon, 60, revealed just how proud he is of his six-year-old son after reading a tear-jerking Father’s Day message from his mini-me.
Chatting to Kelly and his fellow America’s Got Talent pals, Simon initially joked: “Well, I would normally hold up a bottle of Corona beer, but it’s the most inappropriate beer,” before sharing the emotional message.
Brightening up their Zoom call, Simon said: “This was given to me on Father’s Day and I’m going to read this to you because it was touching.”

The music mogul continued: “This is from Eric, my six-year-old boy, to me. ‘I like to waddle, you like to waddle. I like fish, and you like fish.
“You like to swim, and I like to swim. I like to walk in your footsteps standing tall like you. You have webbed feet, and I have webbed feet… and I will always love you, Eric.”
The X Factor legend added: “It’s my favourite thing I’ve ever had.”

Despite the global lockdown since the coronavirus pandemic broke out, Simon has continued to work on a string of his Syco produced shows from the comfort of his home, as well as spending time with his only child.
Revealing how he is coping with the situation, Simon told pal Terri Seymour that he and Eric are embracing the lockdown life.
He said: “I was concerned how [Eric] was going to cope with all of this. But he has been absolutely amazing.

“He is still able to do schoolwork, and now we are camping on the weekends in the garden.”
When probed about camping in a tent, Simon then joked that long-term partner Lauren Silverman wasn’t able to deal with the change from their swanky Malibu pad.
“Lauren, the first time, 11 o’clock said, ‘I can’t deal with this, we’re going back inside’… and I said ‘No, we are staying outside.'”
