Simon Cowell’s six year old son Eric has signed a seven book deal with Hachette Children’s Group which will see him help pen a series of fictional books.
The first three books are slated for release Spring 2021.
Meanwhile, a further four books are set to follow the series in 2022.
A selection of the profits will be donated to benefit Shooting Star Children’s Hospices and Together for Short Lives.
Speaking about the release, Simon Cowell said: “To be able to write a series of books with my son Eric has been magical.

“This idea was inspired 3 years ago by a very special friend of ours who runs a Children’s Hospice charity.
“I told her one evening about some of the funny animals my son Eric and I would invent, starting with the Cog and the Dat.
“And how every evening the two of us would think of the most unlikely animal we would like to have as a pet.
“We would come up with some very strange new animals and the naming of the animals was Eric’s favourite thing.

“She loved this idea so much she encouraged me to turn this into a book series.”
The move will see Eric and Simon go head-to-head with Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams who also has written a series of children’s books.
The Little Britain comedian regularly drops mentions of his novels during his TV appearances, often being playfully mocked by Simon.
In December 2018 a then four year old Eric released his first record.
