Stacey Solomon taking a break from social media 'for personal reasons'

Stacey Solomon announced she’s taking a hiatus from Instagram for “personal reasons” – leaving fans concerned about her.

However, she reappeared on the social media app several hours later to reveal a sweet handmade gift she had received in the post.

As she continues to isolate with her three children and partner Joe Swash at their family home during the global pandemic, the 30-year admitted she needed some time away from the photo-sharing platform.

Alongside a sweet snap of her baby son Rex, she wrote: “Okay Monday. I’m going to come off social media today for personal reasons. I really hope you’re all ok.

“I love you all. Look after yourselves.”

Stacey didn’t go into details surrounding her social media silence – and fans were worried with the lack of information.

Dispelling any uncertainties, she revisited the app hours later to share a present her neighbours had made.

Showing off the painted rainbow, she wrote: “Just received this through the door – I know I sound silly but I really do believe in little signs.

“I thought I’d put it on here hoping to brighten someone else’s day too.”

On the back of the artwork was a thoughtful note from Stacey’s neighbours, who wrote: “Here is a rainbow of hope. We hope it brightens your day.”

Stacey has been avidly posting on the app since the lockdown was implemented at the end of March.

But with NHS staff working tirelessly on the frontline, and others suffering with Covid-19, the TV host admitted she feels guilty for feeling down during the outbreak.

She explained: “I’m going to have to do something because I just feel I’m on the brink of tears. All the time.

“It’s got to be the hormones or the moon. But do you ever have one of those days where you feel like you’re welling up all the time for no reason what so ever?

“And then you feel terrible for feeling teary when there are so many people in the world in such awful circumstances I have no reason to be teary what so ever.”
