“Because they are the prince and princess of the king. Not a man I voted for, but one that campaigned for us, for the animals, and for the Earth.

“I don’t know them. But I love the Irwins and it’s because of how special Steve ‘the bloke’ Irwin was.”

“The saddest thing about Irwin’s death was that nobody seemed to enjoy being alive as much as he did” added a third fan who was moved by the resurfaced interview.

Steve Irwin died when he was just 44 years old.

The freak accident happened on September 4, 2006, while the television star was filming at Batt Reef in Queensland for the series Ocean’s Deadliest.

Nearly 14 years after Steve died, a rumoured feud between the Irwin clan arose after late Steve’s older sister Joy revealed the family drifted apart.

She told the Daily Mail Australia that the late Steve’s wife Terri and their children, Robert and Bindi estranged themselves after his death.

Joy told the publication: “I keep away from all that. It’s just very sad…family stuff.”
