Steve Irwin's daughter moves fans to tears with heartbreaking tribute to father

Steve Irwin’s daughter left her fans crying after she shared an emotional tribute to her late dad on Instagram.

Bindi Irwin, 21, lost her dad Steve back in 2006, when the Crocodile Hunter was stabbed in the heart by a stingray barb when he was just 44.

She shared a touching tribute to her beloved father earlier today, moving her fans to tears in the heartfelt social media post.

In the emotional photograph, a young Bindi was stood beside her beloved dad, both of them holding their hands in the air in a joyful pose.

Bindi and Steve both beamed wide grins in the sweet throwback which was captured before his tragic death.

Captioning her online post, Bindi wrote the moving words in dedication to her late father which said: “Thank you for being my guiding light. You’re always with me.”

She shared the emotional picture with her 3.3m followers on her Instagram page.

Her devoted fans rushed to comment on the tear-jerking family snap, completely moved by Bindi’s words.

One said: “So sweet. I’m not crying, you are,” with a heart-eyes emoji.

While another gushed: “Brings tears to my eyes when I see pics of him. He was such an enthusiastic amazing person. So glad his passion was passed to his children.”

A third commented: “Makes me wanna cry I miss him so much! He was a light to everybody.”

And a fourth added: “He was a wonderful man. A great leader, a great husband, a great father. True lover of nature and animals. My family watched his show faithfully, and were heartbroken when he passed. He would be so proud of you all for continuing his passion.”

“Posts about your dad always get me choked up” typed a fifth Bindi fan.

The beloved Australian adventurer died on September 4, 2006, with the stingray incident happening while the television star was filming at Batt Reef in Queensland for the series Ocean’s Deadliest.

He left behind his wife Terri and children Bindi and Robert, who still continue his legacy at Australia Zoo to this day.
