Strictly Come Dancing pros must spend 2 weeks in hotel ahead of new series

Strictly Come Dancing pros are set to isolate in a hotel together for two weeks in order to shoot upcoming group performances.

It’s believed that the performances will be filmed in a smaller studio and will be spread out over the series which will kick off on screens, in September.

Reports suggest that the professional dancers have been told by bosses to start rehearsing their routines at home before they go into isolation next month.

Speaking to The Sun an insider claimed that the pre-recorded performances will ensure that the show will still have their impressive productions despite a huge shakeup in the production crew numbers.

It’s believed that celebrity participants will have to isolate with their dancing partners before the show kicks off.

The glittering lineup will be confirmed by August.

Stefania Aleksander, Celebrity Talent Executive at Strictly has reportedly been given instructions to focus on celebrities who don’t have young families so they would be willing to be separate from their home should the time come.

A spokesperson for the show told The Sun: “The BBC and the entire Strictly family are working hard to ensure everyone can enjoy some much needed Strictly sparkle later this year.

“Our professional dancers are set to start rehearsing remotely at the end of July.

“As we continue to follow the latest guidance from Public Health England and industry guidelines, we are considering isolating the dancers and key production members to enable our much-loved group numbers to continue.”

Strictly has famously been filmed in front of a live studio audience since it burst onto screens in 2004.

It was recently reported that judge Bruno Tinioli is believed to be leaving the BBC hit show in order to focus on the US version, Dancing With The Stars due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Each year, Bruno jets back and forth between the US and UK in order to appear on each shows but with ongoing travel disruption, it would mean that he would face two weeks in isolation upon his return to England.
