The Chase fans gobsmacked by 'golden shower' remark and say show should be moved

The Chase viewers questioned whether the ITV quiz show should be moved to a later slot on Tuesday after a couple of cheeky innuendos featured on the programme.

Bradley Walsh welcomed contestants Elizabeth, Alec, Frances and Richard to the show on Wednesday afternoon as the team each took on Mark “The Beast” Labbett.

Elizabeth and Alec sailed through to the final round and Frances was the third person to take on the tough quiz show.

Things took a racy turn during Frances’ time in the hot-seat as Bradley asked questions relating to “a golden shower” and “moist curtains”.

During her head-to-head round, the host asked Frances: “In sculpture, what term describes clothes that appear in cling to the body in animated folds.”

The three possible answers were “soggy-textiles”, “wet-drapery” or “moist curtains”.

After deliberating over the question, the contestant correctly answered “wet-drapery” as it “couldn’t be any of the others”.

Viewers rushed to their keyboards to discuss the cheeky innuendo hidden in the question.

One fan tweeted: “The Chase has changed. Golden showers and moist curtains, needs moving to 9pm.”

A second posted: “Golden Showers and Moist Curtains all on The Chase.”

While a shocked third fan asked: “Moist curtains and golden shower. What happened to family TV?”

A fourth said: “Did Bradders just say ‘…golden shower to seduce’ in a question? Doesn’t he realise The Chase is a family, tea time show?

Meanwhile, fans were concerned for Bradley as his voice sounded “completely different” as he hosted the show.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Bradley very monotone today, sounds ill.”

“What’s up with Bradley Walsh today on The Chase? I hope he’s ok,” a fifth viewer said.

The show, which aired on ITV on Wednesday afternoon, was pre-recorded earlier this year.

Elizabeth, Alec and Frances competed against The Beast in the final chase and the lucky trio managed to walk away with £17,000 – a share of £5,666 each.

Quizzer Mark said at the end: “I don’t know if I’m getting slower or the questions were just harder.”

Bradley was delighted that his team managed to beat the Chaser.
