The Chase viewers rush to console 'hot' contestant after game plan goes wrong

The Chase returned to our screens on Wednesday for the latest instalment of the ITV quiz show.

Host Bradley Walsh welcomed four new contestants to the show today for the last episode of the week.

The cheeky presenter was eager to see them get through to the final with some money in-hand.

Jenny “The Vixen” Ryan was in the hot seat tonight trying to prevent the hopefuls from going home with the cash prize.

Russel, Asif, Sophie and Emily all took it in turn to take on the cash builder and later went head-to-head with The Vixen in an intense round of general knowledge questions.

The Chase contestant Sophie left ITV viewers flustered on Wednesday

Sophie was the third contestant to take on the tough quiz show this afternoon.

The 24-year-old medical secretary only managed to answer two questions correctly in her cash builder round, earning £2,000.

After a slow start, The Vixen offered Sophie a low offer of £200 and a high offer of £40,000 before the head-to-head round.

Sophie decided to take the high offer and played against The Vixen for £40k, despite her teammates encouraging her to take the middle or low offer.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Sophie if you need consoling I’m right next door in Manchester.”

“Sophie was a sort wasn’t she. Onlyfans acc?,” another cheeky fan asked.

The first contestant to take on The Vixen this afternoon was charity fundraiser Russel.

He managed to win £8,000 in the cash builder round but got caught by the Chaser during the head-to-head round.

IT consultant Asif managed to keep the £5,000 he won in the cash builder round in tact after taking on Jenny in a round of questions and made it though to the final round.

Emily also got through to the final chase after beating The Vixen but it wasn’t a happy story for the team tonight.

Despite their best efforts, Asif and Emily were caught during the final chase with 14 seconds to spare.
