The Chase's Bradley Walsh forced to apologise to Jenny Ryan over savage swipe

The Chase host Bradley Walsh was forced to eat his words on tonight’s episode after he took a swipe at Chaser Jenny Ryan.

The 60-year-old presenter was joined by a contestant named Phil, who travelled from his home in Wales in an effort to win enough cash for a holiday.

During their introductory chat, Phil confessed he was a music buff, having met his wife Linda while Morris Dancing and playing the bagpipes.

Adding that Linda had been his squire, he informed Brad that he hoped to make some handy money to take his wife on a romantic trip to France.

After earning £2,000 in the cash builder round, Phil claimed he hoped to face Jenny Ryan – as she was a fellow musician.

Jenny plays the ukulele and is a member of a band, known as the Nanukes Of The North, in her native Bolton.

Hearing Phil’s comments, Brad cheekily asked whether Jenny was a “real musician” because she played the Hawaiian string instrument.

He swiped: “Is that a real musician?”

Suddenly, Jenny appeared on the podium, looking furious having overheard Brad’s rude comments about her ukulele.

Cowering, Bradley was quick to apologise, begging The Vixen’s forgiveness as she stared at him, a glare plastered across her face.

He said: “I shouldn’t have said that, I didn’t mean that.”

Apologising, he added: “Sorry about that, I was kidding.”

Luckily, Jenny didn’t hold a grudge and instead took the opportunity to poke fun at contestant Phil’s bagpipes.

She said: “On one hand I really want to knock you out right away.

“On the other hand, if you’re here, at least you’re not playing the bagpipes!”

After a tense round of questions, Phil managed to make it through to the final with £2,000 in hand, leaving his fate in the hands of his fellow teammates.

The Chase airs on weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
