The Chase star Mark Labbett shared his “condolences” with students who didn’t get the A-Level results they desired due to the coronavirus lockdown.
Soon after, the 54-year-old quizzing expert, known on the ITV show as The Beast, then issued an apology over a mistake he made in his original tweet.
He spoke out about this year’s students who’s A-Level results were “downgraded,” as they received lower than their predicted grades.
The results come after the coronavirus lockdown sparked school closures across the country.
Mark shared a tweet with his 129, 500 followers, writing: “Condolences to everybody adversely affected by the A-Level adjustments. Plenty of blame to go around on this one, the moment the schools suit this was inevitable.”

He quickly acknowledged his error for using the word “suit” instead of “shut”, with the television personality blaming the autocorrect function on his phone for his mistake.
The Chaser tweeted: “Oops that should be schools shut rather than schools suit. I blame autocorrect (probably my chubby fingers).”
Mark continued sharing his thoughts on the current results issue, claiming politicians, media and parents “must bear some responsibility”.

While another person disagreed with Labbett, writing: “Exams aren’t always the fairest way!”
