The Chase quiz professional Shaun Wallace was left red-faced on this evening’s show after he answered a question incorrectly.
Host Bradley Walsh was so surprised by the mishap, he jokingly threw his face down on the table in despair.
The Dark Destroyer later apologised for the mistake, labelling his decision as “shocking”.
It all kicked off when teenage player Aislinn stepped up to the plate, hoping to earn enough cash to take her mother to visit the Formula One Grand Prix in Monaco.
The university student impressed both Brad and Shaun during the cash builder round, racking up a whopping £7,000.
Bradley exclaimed: “Never mind Formula One, you ever thought about being Prime Minister?”
The Chaser added: “I’m impressed already.”
Things took a turn, however, when an apparently simple question about mileage appeared in the middle of the round.
The question read: “If a car is travelling at 60 miles per hour, what distance is covered in a minute?”
Three answers appeared beneath: Half a mile, a mile, or two miles.
Surprised by the straightforward question, Aislinn did the maths and answered with “a mile”.
However, Shaun answered incorrectly, choosing “two miles” – much to Bradley’s amusement.
Looking at the Chaser, Aislinn exclaimed: “Are you having a laugh? You alright Shaun?”
Bradley threw his head on the table and covered his face in shock, as he shouted out: “Unbelievable!”
Forced to apologise over the mishap, Shaun shook his head and said: “That was shocking.”
Aislinn eventually made it through to the final, as Bradley praised her quiz-skills, saying: “Best young player we’ve had on this show in a long long while!”
The Chase airs on weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
