This Morning fans blast 'shambles' Alice Beer jet pack segment amid TV fail

This Morning ‘s Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were excited to see Alice Beer take a ride on a jet pack at the start of Thursday’s episode.

However, fans branded the moment a “shambles” as poor Alice didn’t get very high off the ground at all.

She was attached to a rope for obvious safety reasons, but viewers were convinced she was just swinging around on the harness rather than using the jet pack.

One said: “So basically the jetpack doesn’t work and Alice Beer is being swung around by a hoist…”

While another wrote: “Jet pack! She was on a wire #ThisMorning”, with three laughing emojis.

“She’s just been swung around not really taking off…#ThisMorning”, penned a third.

Before Alice embarked on her jet jack ride, she exclaimed: “What could possible go wrong?”

The instructor Richard Browning reassured her: “It’s all very safe”, as the presenter was secured with a rope.

However, viewers were not convinced when Alice’s feet finally lifted off the ground as they expected her to fly higher.

Another said: “That was a bit of an anti climax?? Such a huge build up for that. We’ve all climbed up higher on ropes at school.”

“Alice thinking she was Buzz Lightyear and all she was doing was dangling off a rope”, said another viewer.

Someone else chimed in: “Absolute Shambles.”

Later in the show, presenters Holly and Phil were nearly forced to “abandon” their game of Spin To Win.

During the game, the hosts call viewers to take part in the exciting competition which sees them spin the wheel to win various prizes.

However, each time they rang a viewer who had entered, there was no answer.

Holly exclaimed: “Where are you all?”

Phillip added: “Pick up the damn phone!”

He continued that it might be the “first time we’ve abandoned it in a while”.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
