This Morning fans couldn’t help but notice the tension between Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes on the show today as the pair kept clashing.
The married couple spent the show arguing about the correct definitions of a swede and a turnip, as they disagreed over which one was bigger.
Despite getting TV chef on air to confirm that Ruth was right, Eamonn couldn’t let it go as the debate bubbled on throughout the entire show.
Fans were also left shocked as Eamonn claimed that Ruth would have been at home as a spinster if he hadn’t married her.
He also asked her to move out of their home so that he could move his adult children back in, as fans took to social media to tell off Eamonn.
Even poor Dawn French was kept waiting to have her interview on the show today, as Eamonn delayed the chat to call Michelin star chef Tom Kitchin for his opinion.
As Tom revealed he thought that Ruth was right, Eamonn jokingly kicked the chef off the call as he shouted: “Get back to your kitchen, Kitchin.”
The tension also seemed to be noticed by Dawn as she spoke about why she didn’t want to do Strictly, saying she didn’t want to not be taken seriously because of her age.
Eamonn joked: “She didn’t want to be you Ruth,” as Dawn shouted at him: “No Eamonn! That’s not the case, don’t say that.”
One posted: “Have Eamonn and Ruth had a row before the show this morning, they both seem so tetchy, more than usual?”
Another added: “I was just thinking exactly the same thing today … he just told her that she would still be at home as a spinster if it wasn’t for him! I’m all for banter, but today I’ve been quite shocked.”
A third chipped in: “I agree. Eamonn has been frequently overstepping the mark in how he talks to and about Ruth. It gets uncomfortable.”
A fourth said: “Makes me laugh that Ruth and Eamonn just bicker the entire time.”
This Morning continues tomorrow at 10am on ITV.
