This Morning Phillip and Holly 'taken off air' as show suffers technical blunder

This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were left very confused as the cameras suddenly cut out during a live segment

The pair were welcoming viewers back from an ad break and were introducing the next segment when the camera suddenly cut out and the screen went black several times before coming back.

Phillip said: “Oh look at this, blackout!

“What’s happening?”

Luckily things soon returned back to the normal as the pair joked about the technical malfunction with viewers.

Phillip said: “We’ve managed to stay on for all this time.

“It would be a shame if it cut off now.”

Referring to the forthcoming segment which featured a public toilet in Devon, Phillip said: “Who would have thought a public toilet would take us off air?”

The pair then continued with the show as normal, as they didn’t explain the reason behind the mishap.

Meanwhile, Phillip and Holly could be saying goodbye to a key player in the This Morning machine.

According to the Mail on Sunday, producer Martin Frizell is reportedly hoping to pursue another gig before he retires, leaving his role at ITV.

He is reportedly considering taking on “one last big job” before retirement, following his work on the ITV show as well as Loose Women.

Martin offers Holly and Phillip direction for presenting, giving them advice on a daily basis and coordinating the running of the show.

A source said: “Phil and Holly actually listen to Martin.

“Who knows what they’d do if he left?”

This Morning continues tomorrow at 10am on ITV.
