Timothée Chalamet has been dealt a shattering blow after it was revealed his Bob Dylan project may no longer be going ahead.
It was announced in January 2020 The Dune actor would play music legend Dylan in a biopic named Going Electic, which is directed by James Mangold.
Timothée, 24, quickly became one of Hollywood’s hottest stars after taking centre stage in the coming of age film, Call Me By Your Name, earning him an Oscar nomination for Leading Actor.
However, it is now believed that Going Electric may not even reach the production level after its cinematographer Phedon Papamichael’s revealed it has been halted.

“We were going to do Bob Dylan with [James] Mangold.
“That didn’t happen, with Timothee Chalamet about going electric in the ’60s, and it would have been my third ’60s movie in a row,” he told Collider.
When asked about whether the film will be going ahead, Papamichael’s added: “Not right now, I don’t think it’s dead.

“It’s a tough one to pull off in a COVID-era because it’s all in small clubs with lots of extras in period costumes, so you’ve got lots of hair and makeup.”
Despite the cancellation of the film, New York-born Timothée is currently awaiting the release of two films, Dune and The French Dispatch.
Dune, starring Zendaya Coleman had originally been scheduled to be released in December 2020 but due to the coronavirus, the release date was pushed back to October 1, 2021.

Meanwhile, The French Dispatch will now be released in 2021 having originally been set to be released globally on October 16, 2020.
Chalamet recently signed on the dotted line to work alongside Meryl Streep, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence and Ariana Grande in Adam Kay’s Don’t Look Up.
He was recently given the ultimate compliment by Call Me By Your Name co-star Armie Hammer after uploading a smouldering selfie to his Instagram grid.
Gazing into the distance while rocking a baseball cap, Timothée snapped a selfie taken from below which left Armie gushing in the comment section.
The actor, 34, commented: “Ooooo KING SH*T” alongside an aubergine, water droplets, hearts and fire emojis.
However, he confirmed that his NSFW comment was not confirming a follow up to their 2017 film.
“I did not comment to announce anything about Call Me By Your Name. I promise,
“I still haven’t seen the script, I don’t know if there is a script and they’re just not giving it to me or if there isn’t a script. I don’t know exactly where we are in the process,” he told Variety.
